World Anti -Doping Agency requires four years of suspension against Russian skater Kamila Valieva

The scandal had rocked the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing in February 2022. The positive control of Kamila Valieva was revealed in February 2022, during the Beijing Games. The teenager had won Olympic gold in the team test under the banner of the Russian Olympic Committee, before it was announced only a sample, taken less than two months earlier, had been tested positive for the trimetazidine, A prohibited substance.

The laboratory which was to analyze the sample had been affected by the Pandemic of COVID-19, which had delayed its exam. No medal ceremony had taken place in this discipline in Beijing due to the doubts surrounding the performance of the young Russian skater, pending the results of the investigation into her case. Before the announcement of this positive control, Kamila Valieva was a favorite for the individual title.
