Susan Wojcicki, the owner of Youtube, announced Thursday, February 16, that she resigned from her post after almost a decade to direct the most popular online video platform in the world. However, she remains, as an advisor, at Google, the parent company of YouTube, whom she joined when it was still only a start-up in her garage.

“After almost twenty-five years, I decided to leave my post at the head of Youtube and start a new chapter by focusing on my family, my health and personal projects that fascinate me”, -It said in a note to the employees of the Californian group.

Sergey Brin and Larry Page, the founders of Google, rented its garage in 1998, the company’s first headquarters after their dormitory at Stanford University. A year later, she became the first marketing director of the young company.

This is another senior YouTube official, Neal Mohan, who will replace Susan Wojcicki later this year. Former executive of the double -click advertising company, Mr. Mohan joined YouTube after the company’s acquisition by Google in 2007, for three billion euros.
