According to TASS, Sberbank will launch a project for a quick return to customers of money transferred to fraudsters. The pilot project starts in May in all regions. This was stated by the deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank Stanislav Kuznetsov at the Ural Forum “Cybersecurity in Finance”.
According to Kuznetsov, the bank is in search of customer protection tools, who independently transfer funds to them under the influence of scammers.
“When the client is through his own fault, because of his mistake, he transfers money to the account, this score is with the bank, we quickly show that there was an error, and the client gives us a power of attorney so that we defend his interests, we are ready We will return the funds. Because the level of reliability of our data is very high, we have learned to return this money through the courts in a simplified manner, ”he said.
Kuznetsov also noted that the return of funds was reduced to one month, in the future it can be carried out within a few days. According to Law 115-FZ, the money on the bank account of the alleged scammer can be blocked for 10 days. After blocking, the bank can inform the client and, upon receipt of the power of attorney and the application from the client, initiate the return procedure.
The Chairman of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina also performed on the forum and said that banks should automatically block transfers to well -known fraudulent accounts and resources, and not give people time to “think”. She also emphasized that banks should protect customers in such situations and compensate for the damage.
