The war of the nerves promised by the left against the pension reform is engaged in the National Assembly. On the fifth day of the examination of the amending social security financing bill on Monday, February 13, deputies of the new Ecological and Social People’s People’s Union (NUPS) made a change in strategy, under pressure from unions and presidential camp.
It is 9:30 p.m. when, when the debates resumes, more than 1,300 amendments of the left on article 2 relating to the “senior index” are striped with a feather. Gathered with the “rebellious” leaders, environmentalist and communist, the president of the socialist group, Boris Vallaud, explains in the natural room of the Nourcolonne that the Nuts operates this maneuver in order to discuss “alternative financing proposals”, whose measures will be discussed after article 2.
A way to take their adversaries short and put an end to the accusations of obstruction that aim for leftist parliamentarians, perpetrators of 18,000 amendments out of the 20,000 that have been deposited. The Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, had thus challenged the Nutples on Monday evening, by asking, in an interview with the France-Presse agency, the “withdrawal of amendments which have no other object than to make the Obstruction and delay the progress of the text “.

This decision was made at a meeting on Monday early in the afternoon, between the main text managers on the left, including Olivier Faure and Jérôme Guedj, from the Socialist Party, Mathilde Panot and Hadrien Clouet, from France Insoumise (LFI), the ecologist Cyrielle Chatelain or the communist Pierre Dharréville. The initial objective was then to lead to a vote of article 2 before 20 hours.
But a new setback came to hit the design of the left. Sixty-two hours after the exclusion of session for fifteen days of the “rebellious” deputy Thomas Portes following a controversial tweet on Olivier Dussopt, the controversy came from another elected LFI, Aurélien Saintoul. In an intervention devoted to the numbers of people who died at work, the deputy described the Minister of Labor as “impostor” and “assassin”. An outing that caused an uproar and the rush departure from the minister’s hemicycle, hit.
