Sites that accept online payments through Sberbank warned users about the need to install a Russian browser or a certificate of the Ministry of Cyphra, RBC reports. Sberbank declares that payment can take place without these conditions.
According to the publication, since January 30, on the sites of “Afisha”, “Tasteville” and DNS a warning about this requirement appeared. So, the Afisha website says that without this payment is impossible, on other resources – that there is a chance to encounter difficulties when paying for online posts.
According to RBC, the same warning was found on the website of the Mytishchi Drama Theater and the comedy “Fest”. The theater’s report states that the reason for this requirement is the “urgent transition of all payments on the Internet to Russian security certificates.”
Foreign certificates ceased to operate after last year’s refusal of their owners to work with companies under sanctions. At the same time, VTB, Alfa-Bank, Gazprombank have certificates so far operate, RBC reports
March 10, 2022, the Ministry of Civil Academy said that the State Service has earned a security certificate for Russian sites that their owners can receive. SSL/TLS-certificates are available on the basis of the National Certifying Center of the Ministry of Cyphra of Russia.
The message on the Vastiville website says that “foreign browsers have stopped receiving” security certificates for Russian sites, so “they can consider them suspicious and prohibit entering.” It also indicates that the default TLS certificate support the browser from VK atom and the latest versions of Yandex.Mrauzer.
Sberbank specified that users will not have to take additional actions in order to perform online buying. “Announcements on the sites of partners are not the recommendations of the bank and are created on the initiative of the partner,” the bank representative told RBC. He emphasized that the Internet acquiring service is working normally. Sberic partners can independently choose how the payment decision will work on their side.
