His role as a father in the film “My dear child” (2018), had earned him many praise and foreign awards. Tunisian actor Mohamed Dhrif died at the age of 72, the Tunisian Ministry of Cultural Affairs announced on Monday, February 6.
m. Dhrif was first made known on Tunisian television in the 1980s, especially in the police series Ebhath Maana. The Tunisian Ministry of Cultural Affairs presented its condolences to the relatives of the actor and “to the whole creative and cultural family”.

Mohamed Dhrif had played in several Tunisian films including the Ash Man from Nouri Bouzid, released in 1986 in Tunisia. And it was in 2018, that he stood out around the world for his masterful incarnation of Weldi’s father, in the film my dear child, directed by Mohamed Ben Attia.
For this role of a father of the Tunisian middle class whose only son disappears to do jihad in Syria, Mr. Dhrif had received the prize for best actor at the El Gouna festival in Egypt (2018) and at the festival of the festival Tarifa African cinema in Spain.
