Following the sinking of a pneumatic canoe carrying migrants from the neighboring Turkish coasts, a child and a woman were found dead drowned off the Greek island of Leros on Sunday, February 5, announced the custody -Greek costs.
Thirty-three people were rescued, including six children who were transported to Leros hospital, they added, adding that a rescue operation was still in progress to possibly find other migrants.
Three coast guard boats and a Super Puma helicopter are mobilized, but weather conditions – strong winds and agitated sea – make rescue operations difficult, always according to the same sources.
