Parts of the code of some of the Yandex’s codes do not pose a threat to users’ safety or project functioning, but a large -scale audit revealed several cases of violations of corporate principles and ethical standards of Yandex.
In particular, fragments of test algorithms used within the company are published to check the work of services. One of them temporarily included a microphone without mentioning Alice. The company explained that this was done to reduce false works and improve the quality of Alice’s activation.
The corporation noted that the work of Yandex is based on the principle of transparency and believe that any documents can be published, and in this case there should be no reasons for shame.
“We are very ashamed now, and we apologize to our users and partners. We consider it necessary to tell why this happened, and what we intend to do in this regard,” Yandex said.
