Israeli forces have “deliberately fired grenades from tear gas” in the pediatric service of a hospital in the Palestinian refugee camp in Jenine, “causing the asphyxiation of certain children”, according to a statement from the Minister of Health, May Al-Kaila. “The situation is critical,” she warned.

“The army destroys everything”
According to the Red Cross, the evacuation of the many injured is difficult, said Minister Mai al-Kaila, who asked for the organization of an “urgent meeting” with the International Cross committee- Red and the World Health Organization (WHO). Solicited by AFP, these organizations did not comment.
“The Israeli army destroys everything and shoots everything that moves,” Jénine’s deputy governor, Kamal Abou al-Roub told AFP, adding that the inhabitants live “in a state of war”. “What is happening in Jénine and in his camp is a massacre perpetrated by the Israeli government government,” said Nabil Abou Roudeina, spokesperson for the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas.
Thursday’s deaths bring to 29 the number of Palestinians, civilians or members of armed groups, killed since the start of the year in violence with Israeli forces or civilians. On Wednesday, two young Palestinians, including a teenager, were killed by agents of the Israeli security forces, according to the Palestinian authority. One was shot down after wanting to stab a soldier and the other during clashes with police officers, according to Israel.
tsahal, which has occupied the West Bank since 1967, has been leading almost daily raids through this Palestinian territory, particularly in the North, in the Jénine and Nablouse sectors, bastions of armed Palestinian factions. According to an AFP count, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict left more than 200 Palestinian deaths and claimed the lives of at least 26 Israelis in 2022.
