A man was shot by the police, Sunday, January 22 in the evening, in the 11 e arrondissement of Paris, after having shown himself “threatening” towards the agents, said the Paris parquet and police sources at the France-Presse agency (AFP). The facts took place shortly after 20 hours near the Place de la République.
Two surveys were opened. One for “attempted murder on a person depositary of the public authority” was entrusted to the second district of the Parisian judicial police and will have to clarify the motivations of the man, said the prosecution. The other, at the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN), concerns the police shooting, and was opened for “voluntary violence which led to death without intention to give it”.
