Facebook Exploits Australians’ Data for AI Without Consent

Social network Facebook uses Australian data for AI models

Social network Facebook*, owned by Meta*, confirmed that it utilizes publicly available photos, posts, and other data from adult users in Australia to train its artificial intelligence (AI) models. This means that Facebook is using personal information of Australian users without their consent for the purpose of improving its AI technology. Interestingly, residents of the European Union have the ability to opt out of this use of their information, while Australians do not have the same option.

According to a Global Director

* META and its products are recognized as extremist, and their activities are prohibited in the territory of the Russian Federation.
