ITMO University’s OPENSORSOM COMPETITION participants have released the findings of a study focusing on the development and utilization of global open software in Russia within the realms of machine learning and data manipulation. The report incorporates insights from industry experts at Yandex, Sberbank, Tinkoff Bank, VK, Wildberries, Rocket Control, Codescoring, and MIFTs. Open data sourced from GITHUB and associated services are utilized to generate ratings, graphs, and tables.

The study involved the implementation of data from the GITHUB API and third-party services like Pepy and Star-History. This data was used to analyze the geographical distribution of users engaged in open projects and their contributions. The report also delves into existing Openors’ communities, previous research on similar subjects, the potential growth of opensors in the AI era, and various other related topics.
