Issue Ghostbsd 07.24.1

GhostBSD has recently announced the release of their desktop-oriented distribution, GhostBSD 24.07.1. This version is built on FreeBSD 14-Stable and offers the user environment Mate. Additionally, unofficial assemblies with XFCE are also available. GhostBSD uses the ZFS file system by default and supports both Live mode and installation on a hard drive using Ginstall, their own installer written in Python. The loading images for architecture x86_64 are approximately 2.6 GB and can be accessed here.

The new version of GhostBSD includes the following updates:

  • Synchronization with the FreeBSD 14.1-Stable branch.
  • NetworkMgr’s network configurator now displays signal levels.
  • The addition of GIT and VIM from the package repository, with VIM replacing the full-time VI from FreeBSD.
  • Expanded equipment support, including NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti.
  • Transition to using pkgbase and ISO-image assembly based on it.
