The latest release of the backup tool nxs-backup 3.11.0 has been announced by nixys, offering users the ability to create and manage backup copies on local or external storage. This tool supports the backup of files as well as various database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MONGODB, and REDIS. The project code is available under the Apache 2.0 license, allowing for flexibility and innovation in its use.
Users can now store backup copies locally or remotely on storage options such as S3, FTP, SSH, SMB, NFS, and WebDAV. The tool utilizes various libraries to facilitate the backup process for these storages. Additionally, integration with monitoring systems enables users to track metrics in Prometheus format, including the size of backup files, backup collection accuracy, and backup creation time. Users can also set specific retention policies to maintain a certain number of backup copies.
In the latest version of nxs-backup, several new features have been introduced:
- Ability to limit resource consumption such as CPU, disk speed, and write speed for remote storage;
- New Rotateenabled function to disable backup rotation;
- List display and sorting for created backup copies;
- Improved flexibility in creating S3 vault URLs;
- Support for traversing foreign directories during backup rotation;
- Updates to Go language and dependencies to current versions.
