The developers of the Arc Search browser have confirmed their plans to release the Android operating system version of the browser. The announcement was made in response to a user’s question on the social network Threads. Representatives of ARC Internet shared a short video demonstrating the application on a device similar to Google Pixel, signaling an imminent release.
ARC Search, which is already available on iOS and recently expanded to Windows, is a mobile browser known for its minimalistic design and AI-based functionality.
One of the key features of the browser is the “Browse for Me” function, which aggregates information from multiple sites onto a single page. While some publishers have criticized this feature for potentially diminishing user motivation to visit original sources, the functionality is reminiscent of AI assistants like Google Gemini or Chatgpt.
Other features of ARC Search include automatic archiving of old tabs, built-in ad blocking, tracker protection, and optimization for mobile devices with quick access to the keyboard and reading mode.
In the video that was published, the interface of the ARC Search Android version showcased user-friendly tab switching and control elements located at the bottom of the screen, distinguishing it from the side menu in the Chrome browser.
Although the exact release date for Arc Search on Android has not been disclosed, it is anticipated that the new browser will present strong competition to existing alternative browsers on the Android platform, given its comprehensive set of features and innovative approach to web browsing.
