QT Company published the release of the framework Qt 6.8, continuing the work on stabilization and extension of the functionality of the V 5 branch. In Qt 6.8 support is provided for Windows 10+, MacOS 12+, Linux (Ubuntu 22.04, Opensuse 15.5, SUSE 15 SP5, RHEL 8.8/9.2, Debian 11.6), iOS, iOS 16+, Android 9+ (API 23+), WebOS, WebAssembly, Integrity, VxWorks, FreeRTOS, and QNX. The initial texts of the components of Qt are supplied under licenses LGPLV3 and GPLV2.
Qt 6.8 has been designated as an LTS release, with updates forming for five years for commercial license holders, which is two years longer than previous LTS releases. Non-profit users will receive support for six months (until the formation of a new significant issue). Support for the previous LTS Qt 6.5 version will last until May 2026, while support for the Qt 6.2 LTS version ended on September 30, 2024. The QT 5.15 branch will be supported until May 2025.
