Oracle has released the latest version of its virtualization system, VirtualBox 7.1.4, which includes 9 important corrections. Some of the key updates in this release include:
- Initial support for the Linux kernel 6.12 for guest systems, with the actual release expected at the end of November.
- Automatic update of Linux guest system additions for ARM through the Devices menu.
- Fixes for issues in the VMSVGA driver, such as flickering, black screen appearance, and screen refresh problems on Linux systems 6.4 and newer.
- Resolution of address restoration problems from VirtualBox 7.0.x environments.
- Improvements in the List VMS and Showvminfo commands for virtual machines that were previously inaccessible.
- Resolution of system DLL size issues when using Windows 11 24H2 and Insider Preview on host systems.
- Addition of the missing LSILOGIC MPT SCSI driver for EFI systems, addressing boot problems with storage devices using this controller.
- Restoration of network boot support in EFI systems.
Additionally, the new version of VirtualBox addresses 5 vulnerabilities with a maximum severity level of 7.5. Detailed information about these vulnerabilities has not been released.
