KDE Plasma 6.2 Operating Table Released

After four months of development, the release of the desktop KDE Plasma 6.2 has been published. To evaluate the work of new issues KDE, you can use assemblies from the projects KDE Neon and OpenSUSE (Argon, based on the OpenSUSE Leap, and Krypton based on the OpenSUSE Tumbleweed).


The main changes:

  • KWin’s composite manager now includes support for color management, with the addition of support for “Rendering Intents” and a method of compensation for the black point (BPC).
  • Implemented Wayland Protocol ALPHA-Modifier, allowing customers to change surface transparency levels and ensure transparency operations.
  • Enhancements in Wayland include the ability to copy and paste from the system buffer during active overview mode and other KWin effects.
  • Added the option to assemble KWin with support only for Wayland sessions.
  • Now, users can utilize color profile data built into their monitors.
  • Sliders have been added to the screen control widget to adjust brightness on connected monitors separately.
  • Users now have the ability to reduce application behavior that blocks sleep mode transitions or screen saver launch.
  • For graphic tablets, a calibration interface, variable settings testing support, key reassignment on the stylus, and screen area comparison support have been added.
  • Display during the charge level has been reinstated, ensuring the widget remains on during charging and turns off only after completion.
