This enabled the perpetrators to make use of prepaid cards that did not belong to them.

A criminal case has been launched in connection with the incident, citing violations of two articles within the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: fraud related to computer information and the utilization of harmful computer programs. Responsibility for the investigation lies with the Department for the Investigation of Cybercards and Crimes in the Sphere of High Technologies, which operates under the jurisdiction of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
