Google Enhances Gmail Safety with New Security Measures

Google has introduced a new security feature for the Workspace – Security Advisor platform aimed at enhancing organizations’ data protection levels by analyzing current settings and providing optimization recommendations. The tool enables administrators to easily spot instances where security settings were inadvertently altered or not enabled initially.

With the rise in cyber threats and their increasing complexity, small businesses are particularly vulnerable targets for attackers. These companies often lack the necessary resources, time, and expertise to implement effective security measures, making them easy targets for cyber attacks. To assist such organizations, Google has rolled out Security Advisor, which not only offers threat protection recommendations but also tools to bolster account and data security.

The new feature facilitates the implementation of recommended settings tailored to each organization’s specific needs. This enhances company protection, streamlines IT department operations, and reduces the risk of configuration errors. All recommendations and actions are carried out through the administrator panel interface, simplifying the security management process.

In addition to recommendations in the admin console, Security Advisor includes features such as enhanced safe browsing in Chrome, improved secure browsing in Gmail, sandboxed Gmail, data protection, and application access protection.

The feature is accessible to administrators through the “Security” section in the administrator console. Security Advisor started rolling out gradually on September 24, 2024, and will be available to users of Google Workspace versions Business Starter, Standard, and Plus.
