One-Third of Employees Leak Corporate Secrets to Chat Bots

A recent study conducted by Cybsafe and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA) has revealed alarming statistics regarding the use of artificial intelligence tools in the workplace. According to the study, 38% of organizations are utilizing AI to exchange confidential work information without the consent of employers, with this practice being particularly prevalent among younger employees.

The study found that 46% of Generation Z individuals and 43% of millennials admitted to accessing work data through AI without informing their superiors. The research, which involved over 7,000 participants from countries including the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Australia, India, and New Zealand, shed light on the lack of awareness and training in AI usage.

Shockingly, 52% of the surveyed employees reported that they had not received any training on the safe use of AI. This lack of education was even more pronounced among students, with 58% of them stating they had not undergone any AI safety training. Furthermore, 84% of unemployed individuals and 83% of retirees also confessed to not having learned how to handle AI securely.
