Windows 10 Update Fixes Edge, Antivirus Issues

Microsoft has recently released the Windows 10 KB5043131 update, which includes nine changes and corrections to improve the system. This update is specifically for users of version 22H2 and serves as a preliminary cumulative release for September 2024.

One of the key fixes in this update is the resolution of an issue where the Edge browser would not respond in combinability mode with IE. Additionally, a solution has been provided for an error that was causing a failure in the synchronization of Work Folders with active Defender for Endpoint antivirus. Furthermore, the update addresses a bug that was preventing some media files from being reproduced when using certain volumetric sound technologies.

Furthermore, the KB5043131 update enhances the “Start” menu by changing the position of the profile image and adding a new background color to improve element contrast. It also resolves frequent notifications related to entry into the system through Microsoft Entra, in compliance with the European Law on Digital Markets (DMA).

Improvements have been made to mobile operators, the taskbar, and the conductor, addressing system hanging issues when using these applications. Additionally, users are now notified about the option to choose participation in Windows updates.

It should be noted that there is one known issue with this update: users may face difficulties when trying to change the account profile image. This is the only problem acknowledged by Microsoft for this release.

To install the update, users can access it through the “Windows” update center by selecting “Check for updates.” For those who prefer manual installation, KB5043131 can be downloaded directly from the Microsoft updates catalog.
