Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 Released
Project Raspberry Pi announced the availability of the new Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 for sale. This portable version of the Raspberry Pi 5 model comes in a compact size of only 55 × 40 mm. The board is priced between $45 and $135, depending on the memory volume and Wi-Fi support.
The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 is powered by SOC BCM2712, the same processor used in the Raspberry Pi 5. It features four 64-bit ARMV8 Cortex-A76 cores running at 2.4GHz and the Videocore VII graphics accelerator. The board supports two HDMI video outputs (4KP60) and is capable of decoding video H.265 (HEVC) at 4KP60 quality. It includes various interfaces such as PCI Express 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, GPIO pins, UART, I2C, PWM, SPI, and more.
Offered in different variants with varying RAM sizes (1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB) and EMMC Flash (16GB, 32GB, 64GB), the board also comes with or without wireless support (2.4 GHz, 5.0 GHz IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0, BLE). A version with 16GB of RAM is expected to be available next year. The working temperature range of the board is from -20 to 85°C.
