Blender 4.3: Free 3D Modeling System Released

The Blender Foundation has announced the release of Blender 4.3, a free 3D modeling package that offers solutions for a variety of 3D modeling and graphics-related tasks such as game development, simulation, rendering, composition, motion tracking, sculptural modeling, animation, and video editing. The code for Blender 4.3 is distributed under the GPL license, and ready-to-use versions are available for Linux, Windows, and MacOS. Additionally, the foundation has addressed bug fixes for Blender 4.2.4 and 3.6.18 in the long-term support branches, with updates scheduled until July 2026 and June 2025, respectively.

In the latest release, Blender 4.3 has introduced several improvements, including:

  • An experimental backend for the interface using the VULKAN graphics API. This backend is available for Linux and Windows platforms and can be accessed in the “Interface/Developer Extras/Backend” section, where users can choose Vulkan instead of OpenGL.
  • Enhancements to the user interface, including support for consolidating and separating interface elements into individual windows, providing users with more flexibility and control over their workspace.
