Black Lotus Labs team at Lumen Technologies has uncovered a new ngioweb botnet scheme, at the core of the notorious criminal proxy service NSOCS. This service utilizes approximately 35,000 bots on a daily basis across 180 countries, with a significant 60% of them situated in the United States.
Through their investigation, it was revealed that around 80% of NSOCKS bots can be traced back to the NGIOWEB botnet. The attackers behind these bots target consumer devices for consumer use, which includes a range of items such as vehicles, Smart House systems, smart clothing, medical devices, and devices equipped for remote monitoring.
