Almalinux Kitten 10 Update: CentOS Stream-Based

The Project Almalinux Presents Distribution Kitten 10

The project Almalinux presented the distribution of Kitten 10, which is based on the CentOS Stream 10 package base, serving as a preview of the upcoming Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 release. Kitten 10 serves as a test distribution to showcase the features being developed for RHEL 10, while also introducing its own enhancements to CentOS Stream. Installation images for the distribution are available for architectures including x86_64, x86_64_v2, aarch64, PPC64le, and S390x.

The Kitten repository follows a continuous package updating model, with installation images receiving updates every three months. These repositories serve as the upstream source for the Almalinux 10 branch, where patches and new features are first tested in the Kitten repository before being integrated into Almalinux. Additionally, Kitten repositories are utilized for collaboration and integration with other projects such as CentOS Stream and Fedora. The latest build highlights a transition to the Linux 6.12 kernel and the inclusion of packages like QT 6.8, enabling the use of KDE from the Epel repository.
