Seamonkey 2.53.20: New Integrated Internet Apps Released

Latest Release of SeaMonkey 2.53.20 Unites Internet Applications

The SeaMonkey Project has recently published the release of SeaMonkey 2.53.20, a cohesive package of Internet applications. This release includes a web browser, email client, news feed aggregator (RSS/Atom), and a WYSIWYG Editor for HTML pages. Additionally, preinstalled add-ons such as the IRC client Chatzilla, Web developer tools like DOM Inspector, and the Lightning Calendar-Planning Calendar are also included in this release. SeaMonkey 2.53.20 incorporates fixes and changes from the latest Firefox code base.

Version 2.53.20 of SeaMonkey introduces a new bookmark manager based on the Firefox Library interface. Users can now configure the color scheme through the configurator interface, allowing changes to the Browser.Display.prefers_color_scheme parameter. The installer now offers registration in the MIME-type system processed within SeaMonkey.

The Chatzilla IRC client in SeaMonkey has undergone significant improvements with a thorough cleanup of the codebase. Issues such as using ArrayContains, Arrayindexof, ArrayRyremoveat, and ArrayinSerta have been addressed with the implementation of the full-fledged object Array. Additionally, Stringtrim processor now utilizes the TRIM method from the JavaScript object String, and the Fopen has been replaced with the API Localfile. Furthermore, problems related to using the IRC protocol over TLS have been resolved.
