Japanese Casio Electronics Manufacturer was targeted in a large-scale attack by the Mount Program in October, resulting in a data breach affecting thousands of employees, customers, and business partners.
Casio reported in their statement that a total of 6456 employees, 1931 business partners, and 91 clients were impacted by the incident. The breach, which occurred on October 5th, was initiated through phishing emails that allowed the hackers to gain access to the company’s servers.
Internal documents, such as contracts, accounts, meeting materials, and sales data, were confirmed to have been leaked by the company. The compromised employee data includes names, email addresses, departments, and in some cases, additional sensitive information like field of work, date of birth, home address, and tax numbers.
