For the first quarter of 2025, plans were revealed to sell the game console Orangepi Neo, jointly developed by the company Orange Pi and the Manjaro Linux distribution developers community. The device boasts a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U CPU, it offers either 16GB or 32GB of RAM, storage options ranging from 512GB to 2TB NVMe SSD, two USB 4.0 ports, a sound port, TF card slot, touchpad, Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.3, 2-way speakers, Joystick Hall Rocker, and RGB lighting. The dimensions of the device are 259mm x 107mm x 19.9mm.
Operating the Orangepi Neo is an atomarly updated version of the Manjaro Gaming Edition distribution, with Gamescope server utilizing the Wayland protocol for rendering. The user interface, designed for controlling the device and launching games, is based on the shell opengamepadui, which operates on top of the Godot game engine. Interaction with input devices is facilitated by the background process inputplumber. In addition to the specialized shell, users have the option to utilize the full-fledged environment of KDE Plasma 6.2.
