Microsoft Fixes Critical Windows 11 Issue

Microsoft has fixed a long-standing bug in Windows 11 24H2 that prevented non-administrator users from changing the time zone in the Date and Time settings. The error was acknowledged by Microsoft back in November 2024, but the fix has now been implemented in the optional update kb5050094, which was released on January 28.

Despite the bug, users with administrator rights were able to change the date and time through the system settings without any issue. For those who prefer not to install the KB5050094 update, there is a workaround available. Users can use the classic “control panel” to change the clock instead of the UWP “parameters” application. Additionally, they can utilize the Win + R key combination, enter the “TIMEDATE.CPL” command, and press Enter to open the same window.

While the fix is currently accessible through an optional update, the final version will be officially released on February 11 as part of the traditional Patch Tuesday update. This means that the issue will be completely resolved for all users of Windows 11 24H2 after the update.
