Attack on Adspower Browser Platform Exposes Users to Cryptocurrency Theft
An attacker hacked the Adspower browser platform, injecting malicious code that altered cryptocurrency wallet operations and stole user data. The breach took place on January 21 and went undetected for three days before the company identified the threat and removed the malicious code.
Yu Sianya, founder of Slowmist, explained that the malicious modification served as a backdoor into the system. Backdoors can be introduced into software during development or through malicious software, allowing for espionage and remote system control.
