China, Thailand and a number of other countries have agreed on joint actions against cybercrime centers that actively operate in the countries of Southeast Asia. These measures are aimed at combating criminal groups that abduct millions of dollars from citizens and cause damage to the tourism industry.
Representatives of China, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam gathered in the city of Kunmin, where they announced the continuation of the efforts of law enforcement agencies that have already led to the arrest of more than 70,000 suspects, according to Global Times. The authorities will also focus on the capture of the leaders of the illegal industry, which was engaged in the forced employment of thousands of people.
The problem of fraudulent call centers that has existed for several years has received a special publicity after Chinese actor Van Sin, probably, became a victim of such a deception and was forced to work in one of the centers.
