MySQL 9.2.0 DBMS Released

Oracle has established a new division for the DBMS MySQL 9.2.0. The MySQL Community 9.2.0 package is now available for major distributions of Linux, FreeBSD, MacOS, and Windows. As part of the newly implemented release model starting in 2023, MySQL 9.2 has been designated as part of the “Innovation” branch, which will also include the forthcoming significant release, MySQL 9.3. The Innovation releases are aimed at those seeking early access to new features, are published every three months, and will only be supported until the next major release is issued (for example, with the release of 9.2, support for 9.1 ceased). In the summer, a Long-Term Support (LTS) release is set to be rolled out, suitable for implementations requiring stability and long-term maintenance of unchanged functionality. Subsequent to the LTS release, an Innovation Preview MySQL 10.0 will be made available.

New SQL expressions “Create Library” and “Drop Library” have been introduced to oversee the utilization of JavaScript libraries. To view the available JavaScript libraries, the expression “Show Create Library” can be used. Information pertaining to JavaScript libraries is displayed in the Libraries system table, while stored procedures
