OpenWrt 24.10.1 Distribution Released

OpenWrt has announced the release of version 24.10.1 of its distribution, designed for network devices like routers, switches, and access points. This release supports 2779 devices and provides system assemblies that simplify cross-compilation and enable users to create their own custom assemblies. These custom assemblies allow users to build firmware with specific pre-installed packages tailored for their needs. Ready assemblies have been made available for 39 target platforms.

The main changes in OpenWrt 24.10.1 include added support for devices such as Action T1200h in BMIPS, CMCC A10, Huasifei WH3000, KEENETIC KN-3811, and more in MediaTek, along with the Linksys MX4300 (LN1301) in Qualcommax and several other devices in ramips. However, some devices like Mikrotik Routerboard 911g and ASUS RT-AX59U/TUF-AX4200 are experiencing issues, while updates for Raspberry Pi have resolved problems with Ethernet.

Additionally, a new Mdio driver has been introduced for devices on Realtek chips, and various components have been moved to a fresh code base in the Linux kernel 6.6.86 release. Updated versions of packages like Ethtool, Openssl, MBEDTLS, and various drivers have also been included in this release.
