Nvidia Glitch Cripples Games, Browsers on Windows 11

Users of the latest Canary Windows 11 build have encountered serious compatibility issues with NVIDIA graphic processors, as confirmed by Neowin. The root cause of the problem lies in the NVIDIA drivers related to DirectX 9, preventing the launch of numerous applications and games utilizing this API.

Issues have surfaced among NVIDIA video card owners using the latest Canary builds of Windows 11. The malfunction with the D3D9 library, a component of DirectX 9, is rendering games, browsers, websites, launches, and even PowerPoint presentations inoperable.

To address the issue, users have resorted to two temporary solutions: either disabling the NVIDIA video card via the device manager (resulting in performance degradation) or manually replacing the D3D9 libraries, a risky method. Microsoft spokesperson Jennifer Ji has acknowledged the problem and assured that engineers are actively working on a fix. In the absence of a resolution, users are advised to revert to the previous build.

It is important to note that this problem exclusively impacts participants of the Windows Insider program and does not affect regular users of Windows 11.
