Bi.zone Tests PT NGFW 3040: Exceeds Expectations

The new generation of PT NGFW 3040 has proven its efficiency after successfully passing Independent checks conducted in the Bi.zone laboratory. The tests conducted confirmed that the device’s actual performance exceeds the specifications provided in the documentation.

The assessments were done in various modes at the Bi.zone test facility, including with the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) activated and deactivated, as well as with and without traffic decryption. The tests used the EMIX traffic profile to simulate the network load typical of large corporations.

The results revealed that the PT NGFW 3040 can support up to 20 million simultaneous connections, surpassing the official claim of 14 million. The device was able to handle 2.07 million new sessions per second, with the processor operating at 77% capacity, leaving room for additional performance. The device also demonstrated a maximum encrypted traffic processing throughput of around 33 Gbit/s, compared to the specified 25 Gb/s.

In terms of detecting cyber threats, the PT NGFW 3040 blocked 85.3% of attacks, with the remaining 15% classified as low-priority by the PT Expert Security Center. Work is ongoing to further enhance threat detection capabilities.

Positive Technologies representatives stated that the independent evaluation by Bi.zone provides an objective assessment of the product’s capabilities, enhancing market trust. The high level of transparency ensures stable performance even under heavy loads and complex traffic conditions.

The testing validated that the PT NGFW 3040 delivers a performance level that rivals that of multiple Russian developers only achievable through the use of numerous hardware platforms in a cluster.
