Oracle Solaris 11.4 SRU 78 Update Revamps System with New Features
Oracle Solaris 11.4 SRU 78 (Support Repository Update) has been released, bringing a host of significant changes and improvements to Solaris branches 11.4. To install the updates included in this release, users simply need to run the ‘PKG Update’ command. Additionally, users can benefit from the free version of Solaris 11.4 CBE (Common Build Environment), which follows a model of continuous publication of new versions.
Key improvements in the latest update include:
  • Updates to VDISK and MDB modules to enhance debugging issues related to virtual disks, particularly in the context of logical virtual environments (LDOMS).
  • Addition of the “-b” option to the iostat utility for retrieving statistics on device operations in guest systems and specifying masks for disk selection.

  • Default integration of Openssl 3 library.
  • Replacement of Psutils tools with pspdfutils.
