The platform release Nextcloud Hub 10 provides a self-sufficient solution to organize the collaborative work of enterprise employees and project development teams. Simultaneously, the underlying Nextcloud 31 cloud platform has been published, expanding cloud storage capabilities with synchronization and data exchange support. This enables users to view and edit data from any device on the network, download participant lists in CSV format, create, import, and export polls, and use the Web interface or WebDav.
The Nextcloud server can be extended on any hosting supporting PHP scripts implementation and providing access to SQLite, MariaDB/MySQL, or PostgreSQL. The initial texts of Nextcloud are distributed under the AGPL license. In terms of solving tasks, Nextcloud Hub resembles Google Docs and Microsoft 365, but it offers a fully controlled collaboration infrastructure hosted on its servers rather than external cloud services. Nextcloud Hub encompasses various Nextcloud cloud services, document and task planning information, as well as superstructures for email access, messaging, video conferences, and chats.
User authentication can be done both in the local database and through integration with LDAP/Active Directory, Kerberos, IMAP, and Shibboleth/SAML 2.0. This includes two-factor authentication, Single-Sign-On (SSO), and binding new systems to an account via QR code. Version control allows tracking changes in files, comments, access rules, and tags.
The main components of the Nextcloud Hub platform include:
- Files for storage organization, synchronization, shared access, and file exchange. Accessible via the web or client software for desktop and mobile systems. Additional features include full-text search, attaching files to comments, selective access control, password protection for links, and integration with external storage services like Sharepoint, NFS, Amazon S3, Google Drive, and Dropbox.
- Workflow streamlines business processes by automating tasks such as document-to-PDF conversion, sending chat messages when
