Top Teams to Clash in Russia for 2025 Cyber Games

An international Online bonding for students and young specialists in the field of cybersecurity will take place from February 25 to April 26. Participants will engage in identifying vulnerabilities in IT infrastructure and investigating cyber incidents in Standoff, one of the most complex cyber platforms. The tournament is organized by Positive Technologies with the support of Cybercamp from Jet Infosystem and Cybered.

Registration is currently open until March 10 for defenders and until March 21 for attackers. The final competitions are scheduled for April 24-25, with the winners to be announced on April 26. The two strongest attacking teams will have the chance to showcase their skills at Standoff 15, while the best defenders will be invited to the Positive Hack Days International Cyber Festival.

During last year’s competition, more than 90 attacking teams and an equal number of defenders participated. Students from over 100 universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus tested their cybersecurity skills in simulated real-world cyber attack and defense scenarios.

Participants in the tournament examined the IT security of a company that works closely with government entities and large corporations. The winning attacking team, “Buy POC” (NRU HSE), successfully took control of the domain infrastructure, deployed the Siblrator virus, and gained access to the HR system. Leading defenders included Giscyberteam Junior and Kazakhstan Mimicats.

In the defender category, the top position was secured by the BB team (SPbut), who effectively investigated all incidents. The second spot went to FEFU EXE1Sior (FEFU), which identified two out of three attacks.

The international cybersecurity games serve as a valuable platform for participants to assess their skills under conditions closely resembling real cyber threats.
