After a year of development, Codeweavers announced the release of the package Crossover 25.0 . This new release is based on the Wine code and is designed to run programs and games created for the Windows platform. Codeweavers is a key contributor to the Wine project, sponsoring its development and contributing all the innovations back to the project for its commercial products. In the new version:
- The code base has been updated to Wine version 10.0, moving from the previous version, 9.0.
- Wine Mono, which implements the .NET platform, has been updated to version 9.4.0.
- The VKD3D package, which implements Direct3D 12, has been updated to version 1.14.
- The moltenvk package, which implements the Vulkan API on top of the Metal framework, has been updated to version 1.2.10. It now includes the DXMT package for Direct3D 11 implementation on top of the Metal API and the D3DMETAL package for Direct3D 12 implementation on top of the Metal API, now at version 2.1.
- New features in the MacOS assembly include a database for automatically applying game-specific settings, support for GOG Galaxy and Epic Games Store services, and improved support for games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Tekken 8, Age of Mythology: Retold, Path of Exile 2, Elite Dangerous, Monster Hunter Rise, Hero’s Land, Manor Lords, Fallout 76, and Far Cry 6.
