Registration is now open for children and youth competitions focusing on Linux, known as “Linux-Skills,” a part of the Technocakatus Technical Creativity Festival. The competitions will be divided into two nominations: Alt-Skills (Alt Linux) and Calculate-Skills (Calculate Linux), with three age groups: 10-13 years old, 14-17 years old, and 18-22 years old.
Starting from March 10 to March 16, 2025, an online qualifying stage will be held where participants will undergo testing. The final round is scheduled from April 4 to April 20, 2025, where participants will gain access to a virtual platform. Here they will need to set up networks and transfer working stations from MS Windows OS to Linux, followed by configuring Linux and networks.
The competitions will feature the use of distributions such as Simply Linux and Calculate Linux, as well as Openwrt and Opnsense on routers. The final round will be held in person at support sites located in Moscow, the Moscow Region (Shchelkovo), St. Petersburg, Irkutsk, Rostov-on-Don, and Ryazan. Additional support sites in other cities can be set up upon participant request.
