At the conference of conservative political forces in Washington elon Musk orchestrated a dramatic performance by brandishing a chainsaw – a gift from Argentine President Javier Milei. Donning a black cap with “Make America Great Again” written on it, the billionaire wielded the tool to the rousing cheers of the audience, dubbing it a “weapon against bureaucracy.”
This gesture, however, was more than just a crowd-pleaser. It served as a political statement, aligning with Milei’s aggressive approach to downsizing government agencies. The conference also delved into a similar initiative put forth by Donald Trump – the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), aimed at slashing nearly two trillion dollars from the federal budget, though it has yet to receive official department status.
In a conversation with TV host Rob Schmitt, the head of Tesla and SpaceX opened up about his evolving political stance. Musk, who previously steered clear of overtly supporting any party, has now openly aligned himself with the Republicans. He believes the nation teetered on the brink and stressed the importance of Trump’s election victory and a Republican majority in the House to revive the country.
Musk further emphasized the need to restore America’s founding principles of freedom and equal opportunities, while admonishing large media outlets for their ideological bias. He highlighted his purchase of social network X as a means to safeguard free speech.
Under the Republican agenda, the budget cuts facilitated by DOGE aim to safeguard vital social and healthcare programs like Medicare and Social Security. Musk also advocated for increased transparency in government operations, proposing public access to the vast gold reserves housed in Fort Knox. The military base in Kentucky holds around 4,500 tons of gold ingots.
Elon Musk didn’t mince words when critiquing the Biden administration’s immigration policies, labeling them as a “massive import scheme.” When questioned about their unconventional political approaches, both Musk and Trump were accused of challenging the established norms, to which Musk simply retorted, “Yes, we’ve been battling the matrix for quite some time. It’s necessary.”
