The Chinese research institutions linked to the People’s Liberation Army reportedly utilized the publicly available LLAMA model to develop AI tools with potential military applications. By taking advantage of the company’s open source code, the Chinese experts were able to create AI technologies for military use.
It is worth noting that META and its products are classified as extremist, and their operations are banned in the Russian Federation. The use of META’s AI model LLAMA for military purposes by Chinese researchers has raised concerns about the potential misuse of AI technologies for national security.
