The Tagansky District Court of Moscow has slapped a 3.5 million ruble administrative fine on Mozilla Corporation, the company behind the popular browser Mozilla Firefox, for failing to comply with the legal requirement to remove prohibited information in Russia. The decision was announced in the official Telegram channel of Moscow courts of general jurisdiction.
The court ruled that Mozilla Corporation violated the provisions of part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, which mandates site owners and information resources to erase prohibited content.
Mozilla Corporation, a subsidiary of Mozilla Foundation established on August 3, 2005, is responsible for developing and distributing the Internet browser Mozilla Firefox.
