Russian company Positive Technologies is in talks with the UN Economic Commission for Africa to potentially participate in the establishment of a Cybersecurity Center in the region, as reported by RIA Novosti. Moktar SEK, head of the Innovation and Technology Department at the UN, revealed that discussions are ongoing regarding this collaboration during the Russian-Africa format ministerial meeting.
SEK emphasized the significance of partnering with Positive Technologies in the creation of the cybersecurity center, which is anticipated to be operational by 2025. The establishment of this center is expected to play a crucial role in advancing the digital development of Africa. Additionally, the UN representative highlighted the need for substantial investment in communication infrastructure across the continent, estimating a requirement of at least $100 billion by 2030.
