Memtest86+ 7.20: New Memory Testing Release

Memtest86+ version 7.20 is now available for testing RAM. This program is independent of operating systems and can be initiated directly from the BIOS/UEFI firmware or bootloader to perform a comprehensive RAM test. In case any issues are detected, Memtest86+ offers built-in Memory of Memory Solutions that can be utilized in the Linux kernel to pinpoint problematic areas with the support of MemMap options. The project’s source code is distributed under the GPL v2 license.

The latest update includes significant enhancements:

  • Added support for the Loongarch processor architecture (La664).
  • Added support for Intel processors from the Arrow Lake (Core Ultra Series 2) and AMD processors from the Zen5 (Ryzen 9000) series.
  • Pre-support for the non-uniform Memory Access (NUMA) architecture of multiprocessor systems.
  • Performance optimizations have been implemented.
