Tizen Studio 6.0 Development Environment Released

The latest release of Tizen Studio 6.0 has been announced, offering developers an updated SDK and development environment to create, build, debug, and profile mobile applications for the Tizen platform and Web API as well as NATIVE API. The development environment, based on a new Eclipse platform release, features a modular architecture that allows users to select and install only necessary functionality either during installation or through a special package manager. Additionally, plugins are available for development using the VS CODE editor and integrated Visual Studio environment.

Tizen Studio comes equipped with various Tizen-based devices such as smartphone emulators, TV emulators, and smartwatch emulators. It also includes learning examples, tools for C/C++ application development, support for web technologies, components for new platform support, system applications, drivers, utilities for Tizen RT application assembly, and tools for creating applications for smartwatches and TVs.

In the latest version of Tizen Studio, several key updates have been implemented:

  • A new profile has been added to support the Tizen 9.0 platform, while outdated profiles for Tizen versions older than 6.0 have been removed.
  • An Issue Reporter program has been integrated into the SDK for sending reports.
  • Support for Windows 11 has been added to the Tizen Studio development environment and utilities.
  • Features for developing web applications for Tizen platform TVs have been enhanced, including the addition of the TV Web Simulator emulator. Tools for UNIT testing and error identification in memory when working with National API-based applications have been provided. Support for .NET platform application development has been increased, with diagnostic utilities like GCDUMP, DUMP, and Trace included. The use of Webassembly for Web API-based applications is now possible.
  • Additional tools like Unit testing, Coverance testing, and memory error identification have been added in Visual Studio. An option to install applications directly to external devices based on the Tizen platform has been included in the context menu.
