The founder of the Truth Terminal Platform, Andy Iri, recently fell victim to a hacker attack, resulting in his account on the banned X* social network being used to promote a fraudulent token. The attacker took advantage of Iri’s profile on the platform to post the address of the new token contract, named IB, in an attempt to lure investors and artificially inflate the market value of the token.
Following the hack, the hacker managed to obtain 12.5% of the total token volume, leading to a significant increase in capitalization up to $25 million. With earnings exceeding $600,000 from these operations, the attacker initiated a large-scale token sell-off, causing the token’s value to plummet by 98% and reducing the capitalization to $500,000.
In response to the incident, community members stepped in to help stabilize the token’s price, leading to a partial recovery in its value. Iri regained temporary access to his account and revealed that the hacker had gained control through a SIM-SWAP attack on his mobile operator. However, subsequent suspicious activity on the account suggested that complete control had not been regained.
Andy Iri’s AI-powered creation, the Truth Terminal Chat Bot, made headlines in the crypto community for its significant holdings in meme-coins, accumulating over $1 million from various crypto investments. The chatbot, based on the Claude 3 OPUS model from Anthropic and trained on social networks, attracted the attention of venture capitalist Mark Andressen, who donated $50,000 in bitcoins after engaging with the bot.
* The X* social network is currently banned in the Russian Federation.
