Recently, Meta started testing facial recognition technologies in order to combat scams and assist in restoring compromised accounts. The goal is to protect users from fraudulent advertising, especially ones using celebrity photos to lure people to fake websites where personal information or money is requested. These types of advertisements, known as “Celeb-Bait,” go against Meta’s rules.
Furthermore, Meta and its products have been classified as extremist, leading to a ban on their activities within the Russian Federation.
