HyperOS 2.0: Xiaomi Gamartphone Detects Hidden Cameras

The company continues to improve its Hyperos operating system, first presented last year. Soon the updated version is expected – Hyperos 2.0. According to the recent Xiaomitime report, one of the key features of the new update can allow you to detect hidden cameras.

It is assumed that the new function will have a simple interface that requires the user of just one press to launch scanning. After clicking on the scanning button on the screen, a message will appear: “Detection of hidden cameras to protect your confidentiality and security.” This approach makes the function available for a wide audience, including those who do not have technical skills. In real conditions, the effectiveness of this tool has yet to be evaluated, however, its implementation indicates the desire of Xiaomi to increase the level of protection of personal data of users.

The new function “Camera scanning” is a significant step forward in the field of mobile technologies. Although the technical details have not yet been disclosed, it is assumed that it uses WLAN search methods similar to the INGRAM program, accessible to github. This innovation can become a standard for functions focused on confidentiality, especially in conditions of increasing concern about the safety of personal data.

It is expected that the Hyperos 2.0 will be launched in October 2024, timing the update on the first anniversary of Hyperos 1.0. Among other innovations, it is worth noting the improved productivity of devices, improved interaction between Xiaomi devices and wider opportunities for personalization. These improvements are aimed at creating a more convenient and effective user experience.

Nevertheless, questions remain about how effective the function “Scanning the camera” will be in real conditions. The use of Wlan-signals may encounter a number of problems such as obstacles in the form of walls and furniture, which can reduce the accuracy of detection. In addition, the presence of other electronic devices using the same frequency ranges can interfere and impede recognition of hidden chambers.

The placement of devices also plays an important role: if the camera is hidden in an inaccessible place, WLAN signals may not detect it. This is especially true for large rooms with many secluded corners, where the signal may not be properly passed. The reliability of the function will depend on how sensitive and accurate it turns out to be, especially taking into account modern technologies that allow creating cameras that are disguised as ordinary objects.
